He leaned against the bar of the Velvet Clover, an upscale jazz club, where the world’s criminal elite often gathered beneath the guise of sophistication. Dressed sharply in a tailored black suit that molded to his athletic frame, J. Cat nursed a bourbon he had no intention of finishing.
